Registration of Darpan

NGO-DARPAN is a platform that provides space for interface between Non-Government organizations (NGOs)/ Voluntary Organizations (VOs) in the country and key Government Ministries / Departments / Government Bodies.

In order to transact business (apply/receive for the govt. grants)  with line Ministries/ Departments, an NGO has to first sign-up on the NGO-DARPAN portal to obtain a Unique Identity Number (UIN) by furnishing the required details like registration number of the organization, PAN of the organization, PAN and Aadhar details of the office bearers/trustees etc.

The NGO-DARPAN started out as an initiative of the Prime Minister’s Office, to create and promote a healthy partnership between VOs/NGOs and the Government of India. The Portal is managed at present by NITI Aayog.

Consequences of not complying with the provisions of the Income Tax Act with respect to TAN

Section 203A of the Income Tax Act specifies the penalty in case the assessee failes to comply with the above mentioned provisions, he will be liable for a penalty of Rs. 10,000/-

PROCEDURE TO REGISTER AN NGO WITH NGO DARPAN PORTAL.

Step 1:  Visit  Niti Aayog NGO Darpan

Step 2: Click on “Sign Up with the portal.

Step 3: Create your User ID and password.

Step 4: Fill all the NGO details according to the registration document.

Step 5: Fill in registration details.

Step 6: Fill if you have any multiple registrations.

Step 7: Select sector and issues the NGO is working on and also fill achievements section.

Step 8: Fill the address of the NGO and submit.

Documents to be uploaded

Registration Certificate should be scanned in pdf or jpg (preferably) format, and uploaded. The size of the file should be less than 2MB.

  • ​ In case of Trust deeds, only the first page and the page with the signature on it should be scanned and uploaded.
  • ​ PAN of the organisations and PAN and Aadhaar numbers of the officer – bearers

What are the documents which need to be attached to the Form 49B

Form 49B is a PAN based form and every assessee making an application for allotment of TAN must have PAN and the form shall be filed correctly according to the PAN of the assessee and all the details of the PAN will be co-linked with the TAN and hence no additional documents are required to be attached with the application in the form 49B
